About Me I am a Dual Degree Student in the second part of my academic journey. At my home institution (Morehouse College), I studied for my first degree in Applied Physics. I am currently working towards my second degree in Electrical Engineering, at The Georgia Institute of Technology. This alone places me in a somewhat unique group of African American men in the field of science and technology.
I will seek out job opportunities that allow me to utilize my newly acquired education to support my dream of improving upon current solar technology and making it readily available to the general public. I will give back by sharing my knowledge and encouraging other young innovators to enter the field of science and technology. I am not looking to only create a better life for myself, but I want to create a better world around me. |
Educational Journey
I would like to highlight my educational journey starting from my time in High School to now. Starting Fall of 2015, I attended Richmond Hill High School in Richmond Hill, Georgia. (roughly 15 minutes from Savannah, Georgia). Here is where I began my studies as an engineer, my passion for running, and my interest in drawing. I knew that I wanted to become an Electrical Engineer, but I still had an interest in the arts and digital design. I took entry-level engineering courses and entry-level courses in Graphic Design.
I was also an active member of the school Track and Field team. I would participate in events like 400-meter, 200-meter, 4X400, 4x100, Hurdles, and Pole-vaulting. I did this for all four years, while I was in high school.
Jump forward to Fall 2018, I started my first semester at Morehouse College. Here I completed major course electives and some college-level Engineering courses for a degree in Electrical engineering. As a dual degree student, a majority of my classes were there to acquire my Morehouse degree in Applied Physics. While at Morehouse, I kept myself busy with some of the extracurricular clubs. I spent a lot of my afternoons working on activities for college-level engineering projects with a student-led club called AUC Make Way. Make Way was a great resource that allowed me to apply what I've been learning from my engineering lectures and use them to solve real-world problems (I worked on a lot of projects with this club. More Info on each project is located on the PROJECTS page).
The next step in my journey is to complete the requirements for the Electrical engineering degree at Georgia Tech. Spring 2021 marked the beginning of my career as a Tech student. I did not understand the difference between being a Tech student and a Morehouse Student, until the end of my first semester. The transition from Morehouse was rough. Although the coursework is more challenging, I am glad to be here at Georgia Tech to challenge myself as I continue to learn more about the world of engineering.

Vision / Purpose
- My Dream is to improve and redesign solar panels to become cost-effective and more available to the general public.
- To make this dream a reality, I'm taking select classes offered under two threads offered at Georgia Tech.
- The first thread is titled Electrical Energy Systems. I focused on electrical power systems and obtaining a more knowledgeable understanding of how electronics are powered. For me to update and redesign any power source, I must first understand the basics.
- The second thread is titled Robotics. I chose courses from this thread because robotics always fascinated me. Even when I was younger, I took part in robotics competitions. I enjoy robotics too much to not chose these threads and here at Georgia Tech, I can learn more about it.
Skills :
Hobbies :
Sketching Images
In my free time, I like to pick up a pen or pencil and just doodle. Over time the doodles became more detailed and interesting to look at. I started taking the time to draw out full images and began making small characters. I found enjoyment in teaching myself how to draw or sketch something new. |
Jogging
This fun hobby started soon after my last year of high school. I always found peace an pleasure while running along side my teammates. I always felt comfortable with them and enjoyed my time on the team. Since then, I continue to run weekly, and it always reminds me of those good times. Whenever life or school feels like its too much, I go for a quick run to relieve the stress and feel at peace. |
